DID MARILYN MONROE HAVE PLASTIC SURGERY?
We may finally have our answer.Marilyn Monroe always has been, and continues to be, a symbol of elegance and glamour. Her look has become iconic as she is one of the most recognizable figures in history. Whether or not the starlet had any cosmetic work done has been a popular subject of debate, however, news broke earlier this month about a physician’s notes that indicate Monroe had undergone cosmetic surgery after all.
When you think of Marilyn Monroe, you likely picture her in the iconic white dress with her blonde hair cropped up and her lips painted a bright red. Plastic surgery probably isn’t one of the first things that come to mind. Monroe began as a model but gained her iconic status on the silver screen where she starred in 30 films, though her last remains unfinished. Reuters reports that a set of physician’s notes and X-Rays will be sold at an auction November 9-10 and are estimated to sell for anywhere from $15,000 to $30,000. The notes taken by Michael Gurdin, a famous Hollywood plastic surgeon, are said to confirm that Monroe had undergone cosmetic surgery. The notes imply that Monroe had undergone nose surgery during the mid-1950s and among the included X-Rays are scans of her frontal facial bones and teeth. People often cited a change in Marilyn’s appearance, but were unsure if they were due to plastic surgery. While it may be surprising to find that Monroe had possibly undergone plastic surgery, most of us would hardly bat an eyelash at news that one of today’s stars had received plastic surgery. The fact is that cosmetic surgery is becoming much more popular and widely accepted today.
